I have been reading a lot of comments regarding the need for Americans to travel abroad more. Please answer this question. Why would we want to travel to other countries when US citizens are not liked? I would love to travel with my children and show them so many things, but frankly, right now I don't think it is safe for a US citizen to do so. Instead of traveling to other countries we host exchange students. I believe it has been a great experience for my family. We have hosted students from both Japan and Spain. We have taken the time to learn from the students about their home country and their cultures and become acquainted with their families. Some day I hope to travel abroad but with US sentiment so low I don't believe now is a good time to do so, especially with children. I love the USA and feel very fortunate to have been born here.
