Q Is one of the problems with this, and the entire energy field, American lifestyles? Does the President believe that, given the amount of energy Americans consume per capita, how much it exceeds any other citizen in any other country in the world, does the President believe we need to correct our lifestyles to address the energy problem?

MR. FLEISCHER: That's a big no. The President believes that it's an American way of life, and that it should be the goal of policy makers to protect the American way of life. The American way of life is a blessed one. And we have a bounty of resources in this country. What we need to do is make certain that we're able to get those resources in an efficient way, in a way that also emphasizes protecting the environment and conservation, into the hands of consumers so they can make the choices that they want to make as they live their lives day to day. Some U.S.-bashing email I received from a Canadian:

Subject: Ignorance in America:

Most Americans don't know Canada is their biggest supplier of oil, the largest foreign supplier of crude oil to US. http://www.cbc.ca/story/business/national/2006/06/27/energy.html

Indeed, for after visiting America almost every year for 20 yrs, and then spending a year in America, I found the majority of Americans don't know Canada is their largest trading partner, or that Canada is larger than America, or that Canada is the economic leader of the G8, or even where Canada is located. One American (who delivered newspapers for 20 yrs) asked me if Canada was anywhere near Alaska.

America may have soldiers in over 60 nations, but sadly the majority of Americans don't ever leave their state, which in many cases is a state of ignorance. Funny thing about Americans is, when one man found out Canada was their biggest supplier of oil, he then said: why don't we invade Canada, and take their oil, so our gas won't be so expensive.

Latest 'American survey' of America seems to reveal America is not only the fattest of nations, but also the most ignorant of all nations. Ignorance(unawareness) seems to be a major (majority) problem in America, where people claim to be "free", but aren't even free to visit neighboring Cuba without presidential permission, or smoke a Cuban cigar in Canada (penalty is not only a large fine, but a jail sentence also). Americans seem hell bent on "believe"-ing, rather than on "know"-ing, when the Bible says to "know" the truth is what makes you "free"; Perhaps free of believe-ing all sorts of lies, such as GWB's "America is a nation under law", when the Bible says "ye are not under the law, but under grace", and "we are delivered from the law", as being delivered from evil, such "evil concupiscence" of law, which is "against us".

Hey, I'm not into America bashing, rather trying to bring more awareness about America to Americans, so they'll put away their obsession with making, loving, believe-ing lies (laws), move on to know-ing the truth, which is what makes us free of believing lies (laws) of false Christs, false apostles, false prophets, false teachers and false preachers among us. The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
