This is a global experiment: a place to tell the world what you think about America and also read what other people think. What do you love about America? What do you hate about America? (Or maybe it's a love/hate thing for you?)

"And by the way, the United States is number 20 on the list of the richest countries in per capita giving to the poorest of the poor--i.e., you're at the bottom of the class. And the reason no one knows that is you can always say you're giving more than anyone else, and you are giving more than anyone else, but not per capita. It's just because you're a bigger country. If we use Europe as a comparison to America, then you're in the dust."

In Indonesia, it is still unthinkable for a “non-indigenous”, non-Muslim, person to run for president. A third generation Chinese-Indonesian Christian, for example, is still not seen as a suitable person to hold that office. It is a credit to the US people that Barack Obama is one of its presidential candidates, and that his racial background is not an issue, regardless of whether he will actually become the president of the USA. On the other hand, however, this is the same people that have allowed an obviously incompetent, untrustworthy person to sit in the Oval Office, not just for one, but two terms. This, I think, is the paradox of the USA.
